Tromboncino Summer Squash
Tromboncino is an Italian heirloom summer squash with light green fruits that grow long and curve to a bell at one end, best harvested at 8–10 inches when the flavor is fine and sweet. The vigorous moschata vines can be trained on a trellis and bear all season even in areas where insects trouble other summer squash varieties; if left to mature, the skin ripens to a tan butternut color.
