Strawberry Watermelon was selected from a Florida heirloom and introduced by Southern Exposure Seed Exchange in 1989, producing long 8 x 20 inch melons weighing 15–25 pounds with a dark green rind striped in darker green. The strawberry-red flesh ripens to within half an inch of the rind and delivers a delicate texture and outstanding flavor, with very good disease resistance.
