Developed by Dr. Homna at Michigan State University, this self-blanching cauliflower has self-wrapping leaves that protect the white curds from heat and sunlight during late summer and early fall, so no tying of leaves is necessary unless heads grow larger than 6 inches in diameter. During hot weather, growth slows until cooler temperatures arrive, which prevents the formation of undersized heads.
