Growing tips

🌱Direct sow in early spring as soon as soil can be worked, or succession sow every 3 weeks through summer. Napoli excels in high tunnels for overwintering — sow in late summer for a sweet winter harvest.

🪴Prepare loose, deep, stone-free soil for straight roots. Thin to 2–3" apart once seedlings are 2" tall. Crowded carrots stay small and fork — thinning is the most important step for a great harvest.

💧Keep soil consistently moist during germination — carrot seeds are slow and need steady moisture to sprout evenly. Once established, water deeply but less frequently to encourage deep root growth.

❄️For overwintering, mulch heavily after the ground cools and harvest through winter as needed. Cold temperatures convert starches to sugars — Napoli carrots pulled after frost are noticeably sweeter and more flavorful.
