Slobolt Lettuce
Slobolt Lettuce is a 1940s heat-tolerant variety developed specifically for southern growers who struggled to keep lettuce from bolting in warm weather — and it delivers remarkably well on that promise, staying productive and mild-flavored long after standard lettuces have become bitter and bolted to seed. The loose, attractive heads have a pleasant, clean flavor that remains enjoyable throughout the season, and the cold tolerance on the other end of the season makes this one of the longest-producing lettuce varieties available.
