Persimmon Tomato is a Russian heirloom dating to the mid-1800s with large, rust-orange fruits that look exactly like persimmons when fully ripe — the warm, glowing color is unmistakable and the flavor is equally distinctive: sweet, rich, low-acid, and extraordinarily satisfying with the kind of depth that makes these outstanding for fresh eating and simple preparations where the full character of a great tomato can shine.
