Growing tips

🌱Start indoors 6–8 weeks before last frost. Transplant outdoors after last frost in full sun. Bury the stem deep for a stronger root system and more drought resistance.

🧱Stake or cage at planting — indeterminate plants keep growing all season and the long, heavy fruits need support to stay off the ground and ripen evenly.

💧Water deeply and consistently. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and prevent blossom end rot. Reduce watering slightly as fruit ripens to concentrate flavor and reduce cracking.

🍅Harvest when fully red and slightly firm. The meaty, low-seed flesh cooks down quickly into thick, rich sauce — roast a tray with olive oil and garlic before blending for next-level marinara or paste.
