Garlic Chives
Garlic Chives — known in Chinese cooking as jiǔcài — offer the best of two worlds: the slender, flat leaves carry a mild, pleasant garlic flavor that's perfect for stir-fries, dumplings, egg dishes, and soups without the sharpness of a raw garlic clove. In late summer the plants burst into clusters of delicate white flowers that are equally edible and beautiful in a vase, and the dried seed heads are lovely in arrangements. A hardy, easy-growing perennial that returns faithfully every year.
