French Breakfast Radish is an heirloom variety with a look all its own — the elongated roots graduate from a vivid deep pink at the crown to a crisp white tip, and the mild, slightly peppery flesh is tender and refreshing rather than sharp. Traditionally eaten for breakfast in France with sweet butter and sea salt, they're equally wonderful sliced thin over salads, arranged on a charcuterie board, or served whole as an elegant aperitif vegetable with good butter and flaky salt.
