Growing tips

🌱Start indoors 6 to 8 weeks before last frost for spring planting, or direct sow in midsummer for a fall crop. Transplant when seedlings have 4 true leaves and are 4 to 6" tall.

✂️Harvest the central head while buds are tight and dark green — before any yellowing begins. Cut at an angle to shed water and leave the stem intact to encourage side shoot production.

💧Water consistently at the base — about 1 to 1.5" per week. Mulch to retain moisture and keep roots cool. Broccoli bolts quickly in heat, so consistent cool conditions are key.

🍽️Steam lightly to preserve nutrients, roast at high heat for caramelized edges, toss raw into salads, or blanch and freeze for year-round use. Pairs perfectly with garlic, lemon, and parmesan.
