Aswad Eggplant is a magnificent Iraqi heirloom that produces exceptionally large, deep purple fruits reaching up to 3 pounds — some of the largest eggplants available in any seed catalog. The sweet, tender flesh has none of the bitterness sometimes associated with large eggplants and is absolutely outstanding sliced thick and grilled, roasted until silky, or layered into a rich baked dish. A striking, heat-tolerant producer that thrives in warm summer gardens.
