Indigo Apple is a visually stunning variety with medium-sized, apple-shaped fruits that ripen to a dramatic deep purple-black on the sun-exposed shoulder fading to rich red beneath — a bicolor effect that makes them genuinely unlike any other tomato. The flavor is intensely rich, sweet, and complex with excellent balance between sugar and acid, and the flesh is firm enough to slice beautifully. Exceptionally high in anthocyanins, the same antioxidants found in blueberries and red wine.
