Garden Huckleberry is a productive 18-inch plant bearing heavy yields of dull black berries at full maturity that keep very well both on and off the plant. The fruits are not sweet on their own and must be cooked before eating — they are excellent for jam, pies, and syrup — and green fruits should not be consumed as they are likely toxic.
