Daikon, Miyashige White Fall Radish
Originating from Asia, daikon — the Japanese word for radish — is juicy and flavorful, and can be used fresh in salads, cooked in vegetable dishes, pickled, used in kimchi, or grated and mixed with ginger and soy sauce to make a dip. Miyashige White is usually harvested when about 12 inches long and 2 to 3 inches in diameter, though it will grow considerably larger.
