Also known as Big Tom or Yankee Cow Pumpkin, this pre-1700 cultivar of Native American origin remains one of the most popular varieties for large Halloween pumpkins. The 15–20 lb fruits are bright orange, slightly ribbed, and vary pleasingly in shape and size, while also being well suited for canning, baking, and pies.
