Burmese Okra
With seedstock courtesy of Hap Heilman, this variety begins producing pods when plants reach just 18 inches tall and continues until frost, with large leaves around 16 inches across. The slender, virtually spineless pods grow to 9 to 12 inches and mature from light green to creamy yellow-green, remaining tender and sweet at 10 inches long. Less gooey than other varieties, they are excellent for raw consumption, salads, and a wide range of culinary uses.
