Waltham Butternut is a 1970 All-America Selections winner prized for its vigorous, dependable production of 8–9 inch fruits averaging 3–4 pounds, with buff-colored skin and fine-textured, sweet orange flesh. It can be harvested young and used like summer squash, stores very well at maturity, and has excellent resistance to vine borers.
