Red Veined Sorrel is one of the most cold-hardy greens available — it overwinters without protection in most climates and continues growing into spring, providing fresh greens when almost nothing else is producing. The beautiful arrow-shaped leaves with vivid red veining are as ornamental as any flower, and the sharp, lemony-tart flavor with a slightly bitter edge is excellent in salads, as a garnish, and in sauces where the bright citrus character adds sophistication without the need for actual lemon. A genuinely extraordinary perennial green.
