The beautiful arrow-shaped leaves with vivid red veining are as ornamental as any flower, and the sharp, lemony-tart flavor with a slightly bitter edge is excellent in salads, as a garnish, and in sauces where the bright citrus character adds sophistication without the need for actual lemon.
