Champion Collards is an improved Vates-type variety that delivers outstanding flavor, nutrition, and a longer shelf life in a more compact, garden-friendly plant than traditional collard varieties. The wavy, tender leaves are excellent braised low and slow with smoked meat and a splash of vinegar for the classic Southern preparation, or quickly sautéed as a nutritious weeknight side dish. Cold-hardy and productive, Champion keeps the harvest going well into autumn when other greens have long since finished.
