Amish Moon And Stars Watermelon
Reintroduced in 1987 by SESE, this Amish heirloom is possibly a variant of the Sun, Moon, and Stars watermelon introduced in 1920. The variety produces 15 to 25 pound oblong fruits with large yellow moons and small stars on dark green rinds, while the foliage is similarly marked with yellow stars. The smooth, slightly ridged rind encloses sweet, reddish-pink flesh. Seed is grown and stewarded by Living Energy Farm in Louisa, VA.
