Mint
This hardy, aromatic mint (Mentha sp.) is variable: seed-grown plants range widely in flavor and appearance, from spearmint to menthol mint to peppermint, so sowing in pots and transplanting your favorites is recommended. It can be used for mint sauce, jelly, desserts, and fresh or dried teas, and is traditionally valued as a cooling herb with spasmolytic, carminative, and expectorant properties.
