Lucullus Swiss Chard is a classic variety with crisp white stems and broad, dark green leaves and a mild, sweet flavor that's more understated than some of the more intensely flavored chard varieties — making it particularly approachable for cooks new to chard. Heat tolerant and early maturing, it's a reliable producer throughout the growing season, and the tender leaves and stems are equally good raw in salads, sautéed quickly with garlic, or added to pasta dishes and frittatas. A workhorse green for any garden.
